Joyce Barrow

Our one of a kind, Joyce, was born Oct 3, 1944 to Royal Sorenson and Fern Fisher in Rigby, Idaho, and passed away Friday July 12, 2019 in Draper, Utah. Joyce spent her early years growing up on a cattle ranch just outside of Menan, Idaho. As her father was a Mining Engineer they began to move around the west living in many locations. She graduated High School in 1962 from Gallup High in New Mexico. After 3 years of College at the University of Utah Joyce joined the Air Force in 1965 as a Nurse. At Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas she met and married Danny Barrow. After both of their discharges from the Air Force they moved to her husband’s hometown of Evansville, Indiana. They had one son and later divorced. Joyce and her son moved to Holladay, Utah, then later permanently to Riverton in 1981. Joyce worked for KDK, Inc. a fluid milk processor in Draper, Utah for over thirty years. Joyce loved to read and never left the house without a book and/or a story or joke to share. She also loved to travel she went all over the United States.  After her retirement she started cruising taking 5 cruises with her family to the Caribbean and Mexico.
She is survived by her son Danny F. Barrow II and his wife Josceline, grandchildren Mackenzie (Carson) Page, Forrest Barrow, Megan Barrow, and Keaton Barrow, Siblings Brenda Haslam, John (Colleen) Sorenson, Eric Sorenson, Roger (Julie)Sorenson, and Rachel (Bryan) Liston, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Royal and Fern Sorenson, Brother-in-law Al Haslam, nephew Andrew Haslam.
Viewing to be held Saturday July 20th 12:30 pm -1:30 pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Graveside services to follow.
