Joy Bollschweiler Rose, 86, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Friday, December 25, 2015 in Holladay, Utah, of natural causes. She was born August 23, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of George Rupper and Verda Peterson Bollschweiler. She married Donald Wayne Rose on April 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Joy loved her husband and family and enjoyed doing things with them, such as camping, hiking, boating and spending time together at their summer cabin. She also received great pleasure in putting together their family history. Joy’s family knew that they could count on her to be at all important events in their life to cheer for them so they could know that she loved and supported them.
Joy was active in the LDS Church throughout her life, serving as Primary teacher and secretary, Stake Primary Secretary, Relief Society Counselor and Secretary, Stake Missionary, and Assistant to the Ward Clerk for many years. Joy served as secretary to her husband who was a Stake Patriarch. She typed more than four hundred Patriarchal Blessings. She also enjoyed serving a full time mission with her husband in the Oregon Eugene Mission.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Rose, Salt Lake City, five sons and one daughter, Larry (Paula) Rose, Bountiful; Randy’s wife, Eileen Rose, North Carolina; Keith Rose, Vernal; Scott (Anita) Rose, Bountiful; Craig (DeeAnne) Rose, South Jordan; Sharon (Kevin) Crockett, Cedar Hills; and Glen (Shelly) Rose, Cedar Hills. Also survived by 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; brother’s wife (Judy) Bollschweiler, Nampa, Idaho. Preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Rose , son, Randy Rose, and brother Robert P. Bollschweiler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Winder 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 4350 S. 1100 E., SLC. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friends may also call at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E., SLC., on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr., SLC.
