Joy Lorraine Davis Selin

Joy Lorraine Davis Selin age 89 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on September 12, 2020. She was born on January 19, 1931 to Ray Decker Davis and Jean Edith Sargent Davis, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joy married Delbert Ferrin Selin on April 2, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Joy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many calling throughout her life. She and her husband, Delbert loved the many years they spent together doing temple work as patrons.
Joy loved sewing, crafts, crocheting, and collecting recipes. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and especially loved her Arabian horses.
Joy found great enjoyment in family history, genealogy and accomplished a lot of work with her husband. In her younger years she was an accomplished singer and played the piano.
Joy’s greatest treasure in life was her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers and looked forward to visits from children, grandchildren and great grand-children.
She is survived by her husband Delbert of 67 years. Children, David (Lynn) Selin, Daniel (Robyn) Selin, Darla (Rick) Phillips and Debi (Sam) Stout. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren.  Survived by two sisters, Jeannine Snider and Judy Huntington. Preceded in death by her brother Robert Davis, and her granddaughter Rhiannon “Bunnies” Harper.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at Riverton 3rd Ward 12998 S. 1300 W. Riverton, Utah 84065.  A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am to 10:45 am.
The family would like to thank Heartwood Home Health, especially Sadie and Cammie for their kindness and compassion in her final days.
