Joy Duran

Taylorsville, Utah-Our beautiful mother Joy May Duran was reunited with the love of her life Tommy Duran on September 24, 2015. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 15, 1961 to Charles L. Covert and Betty L. Halverson. She met and had four children with her soul mate and later married on August 4, 1984.
She was a hard and reliable worker for many years with Fresh Market Place. She was a very sweet and happy go lucky person, with a great sense of humor with a smile that would light up the room. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her dogs (Baby, Sabra & Nala), dancing and her all-time favorite playing bingo. She was a very genuine person to all. She will forever hold a place in our hearts.
Preceded in death by her parents, sister (Dawnette Holloway) and husband. Survived by daughters Elizabeth (Manuel), Venessa (Paul), Monique (Mario), son Thomas Jr., 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, Julie Lee (Roger), Becky Holloway and brother Timothy Covert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 30, at the Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. (Bengal Blvd.). A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 29, from 6-8 pm at the mortuary, and one hour prior to the services.
The Duran family would like to thank Dr. Gregory Hawryluk with the University of Utah & Neuro-ICU Team for the loving care they provided to mom. ~You’re back in the arms of your Viejo~
