Joseph W Gold, 88, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19,2017 at Jordan Valley Hospital. Born in Green River, Wyoming to John P. Gold and Simonita Durant Gold. Survived by Ophelia Romero Gold. He lived most of his life in SLC
Joseph married his sweetheart Ophelia C. Romero Gold on July 14,1951. They were married for 66 years. He served in the US Navy from 1948-1952 during the Korean War. Joseph was a very compassionate, kind and devoted man. He worked for Hill Beverage Company for many years. He retired from Questar Gas.
In his spare time he enjoyed building furniture for his kids and family, He especially loved just being around his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. He was always the practical joker, and anyone who knew him has fond memories of him. Joseph loved sports of all kinds, he could tell you every team members name, the stats of each player, and even what team that was going to win.
Joseph was extremely loving and proud of his children, George William (Cindy Young) of Taylorsville UT, Pamela Ann (Karl) Timpson of KC Missouri, Gregory Kim (Lisa McNeer) of Riverton UT, 5 amazing grandkids and 3 rambunctious great grandchildren, Benjamin (Tiffany Lippincott) Timpson, Dr. Erik (Dr .Angela Jones) Timpson and children Emery and Anabella Timpson, Carmen Gold (fiancé Jiro Johnson),Trevor Gold, Shayna (Joshua) Humphrey and daughter Zaylaylee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 27, 2017 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3560 W 3650 S. West Valley, Utah. A Viewing/Rosary will take place from 6-8 P.M. Sunday, March 26 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Road. A gathering will take place one hour prior to services at the church.Service Information
