Jose Mateo Valdez, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018.
He was born on September 4, 1933, in Rio Arriba, New Mexico to Rosenaldo and Jaunita Valdez. Joe resided in Salt Lake City, Utah and worked in facilities maintenance at the University of Utah. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed life‘s simple pleasures such as horseback riding, camping, fishing, dancing and spending time visiting family and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his beloved wife Madge, his son Joey, and daughter Juanita. He is survived by daughters; Cindy, and Elaine, sons; Mark and David, and siblings; Josie, Richard, Tony, Olivia, Ross and Fred; and many grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing for Joe will take place on Wednesday December 26, 2018 from 9:00-10:45 AM followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. An interment will immediately follow at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
