Jordan Lee Manwill, 31, of Draper, Utah passed away at Intermountain Medical Center on July 13th, 2017 in Murray, Utah. Jordan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 23, 1986, to his parents Robert Shaver Manwill and Darla May Wymer. He spent most of his growing up years in Boise, Idaho where some of his fondest memories included hiking and backpacking in the mountains with his family and friends.
In 2006 Jordan’s son Aydian was born. Jordan was very proud of him and had a deep love for Aydian.
Jordan enlisted in the Army in 2006, and served honorably overseas in Iraq as a combat engineer until 2013. He obtained his civilian helicopters license. He then most recently worked as a government contractor in Afghanistan until 2016. He took opportunity to travel much of the world with his wife Brittany while overseas.
In addition to a love of travel, Jordan had many additional interests including scuba diving, the outdoors, aviation, playing bass guitar, listening to music, cooking, enjoying fine foods and pizza, guns and knives, horticulture, and he loved animals.
Above all, Jordan had an incredibly big heart. He was a patriot who was always concerned for the well-being of fellow veterans. He was intelligent and talented at whatever he decided to do, and he always had a wonderful sense of humor.
At the time of Jordan’s death, he had enrolled in scuba diving school to become a master diver and had dreams of returning to his favorite place in the world, Bali, where he wanted to be a scuba instructor. He had also planned to enroll at Utah Valley University following scuba school and study to become a counselor to help fellow veterans.
Jordan is survived by his parents, Robert and Darla [Tim]; wife, Brittany; son, Aydian; siblings, Elizabeth [Brett], Paul [Kendra], and Phillip; step-siblings, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and many cousins.
While Jordan was strong and fought for our country, he suffered with and ultimately lost his life to a battle with PTSD. He is deeply missed by his biological and army families and his friends.
His family wishes to thank all those in his life and takes comfort in knowing he is back with his loving Savior Jesus Christ and loved ones on the other side. We know this is not the end and we will see Jordan again.
