Jonathan D. Robinson, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning, March 10, 2024 at Sandstone Skilled Nursing Facility in Brigham City, Utah.
He was born Jonathan Davis Morrill on May 24, 1943 in Cedar City Utah. The first son of Chauncey D. Morrill and LaRae Lauritzen who later divorced. Jonathan and his younger brother Victor Marion were both adopted by their step father Lonald A. Robinson on February 10, 1951.
He was an avid sports fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching as well as playing all kinds of sports. His favorite pastime was to watch his beloved Utes teams play as his health began to decline.
He married Jacqueline Wilkins May 22, 1965 and had 2 sons, Tony and Danny. They were later divorced. He married Emeline Niu, September 4, 1969 and had a daughter, Tani, and two sons, Sione and Michael. Jonathan and Emeline were later divorced as well. Finally, he was married to Dianna Law on December 27, 1991 which also ended in divorce.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Victor Robinson, Lynn Robinson, Norman Robinson, and Ronny Robinson, and a great grandson, Leo James Howell.
He is survived by his brother Dale Robinson (Linda); his Daughter, Tani McNees (Mike); sons Sione Robinson (Penny), Michael Robinson; 25 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84123. It will begin with a viewing at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am and interment immediately afterwards at 12:00 pm.
