Jon Sheppard

Jon Leland Sheppard died May 16, 2014 at his home in Holladay Utah at the age of 54. Jon was born on September 3, 1959 in Murray, Utah to Joseph Leland Sheppard and Maud Sherri Cowley Sheppard. Married LaDawn Rivera; later divorced. Married Shannon McCauley who together had the love of Jon’s life; his daughter Bailey Sheppard. Jon and Shannon later divorced.
Jon loved to fish. He spent many days on the bank of some river or lake, fishing pole in hand and visiting with family and friends. Jon loved being in the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his family and teaching them how to fish. Jon found he had a talent etching glass and created some really cool etchings.
Jon worked in a few fields. He worked for years as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Security Officer and later worked as an over the road truck driver. Jon’s greatest love was his daughter Bailey. They loved to be together and Bailey brought meaning into Jon’s life.
Jon is survived by: Daughter Bailey, Sons Chris (Becky) McCauley, and Matthew Hughes. Brother Jeff Sheppard, Nephew Bryant Sheppard, and by Cheyenne Brown and Nikki Hansen to whom Jon was like a father, and by many close friends and family members.
Preceded in death by: Father, Joseph L. (Bud) Sheppard; Mother, M. Sherri Cowley Sheppard, and Sister Christine Sheppard.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Holladay South Stake Center, 4917 South Viewmont Street, Holladay Utah. Viewing will be held prior to services on Thursday from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park.
