John Stirley Pulver, left this earth unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the age of 72 in West Valley City, Utah. Born on December 16, 1951, to Stirley J Pulver and Lois Earley Pulver. John grew up in a home filled with love in South Salt Lake, Utah, alongside his five siblings.
From a young age, John shared a special bond with his father and brothers, looking forward to hunting and fishing trips. He cherished these moments spent outdoors and carried this love for nature throughout his life, sharing it with his own children while camping and gardening.
John graduated from Granite High School and went on to attend the University of Utah, where he earned a BS Degree in Sociology. He then dedicated 30 years of his life to the United States Postal Service, retiring with honor. John's commitment to his work was evident in his role as union president for 8 years, where he tirelessly advocated for his fellow workers.
In his leisure time, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a fondness for old movies, cars, and had a knack for lightening the mood with his humor, always ready with a joke to share. His warm personality and infectious laughter endeared him to all who knew him.
John's greatest joy, however, was found in his family. He married Rachel Sloan, together they had two children, Ty Pulver and Heidi Jeffries (Jon). Later, he married Linda Wilson, and they welcomed three children, Jeremy Pulver, Ryan Pulver (Tina), and Austin Pulver.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Stirley J Pulver and Lois Earley Pulver, as well as his nephew Chad Eaton. He is survived by his loving children, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, along with his siblings Sue Hall (Rick), Peggy Eaton (Michael), Linda Oldroyd (Jack), Phil Pulver (Jill), Bruce Pulver (Darlene), and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
John's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
