John Naccarato

October 23, 1947 — August 7, 2014

John Eugene Naccarato “Johnny” age 66 passed away peacefully in Salt Lake City on August 7, surrounded by loved ones after a valiant fight with cancer.
He was born October 23, 1947 in Salt Lake City to John Naccarato Jr. and Sarah Jean Turner Kerpa Naccarato. He along with his brothers and sisters grew up knowing what hard work was. Because of that, they developed a tight family bond, and he learned the strong work ethic that he was famous for.
He married Verlyn Youngberg on August 18, 1968. Together they had two children. They were later divorced, he then married Vicki Pinkus, later divorced.
John lived in Las Vegas for the past thirty-five years. The names “Vegas”, “Big John” and “Johnny Five” are synonymous to all that knew him. His energy and smile provided power to light up the strip.
In 1964 he began his career as an eager teenager in the grocery business. Starting in 1985, he spent an additional twenty-nine years on the wholesale side of the business. He retired May 31st of this year from Johnson Brothers of Nevada, capping a happy, wild and supremely successful fifty year career.
John loved fishing, traveling, hot air balloons, and spending time with his friends and family. His presence will be sorely missed. Arrivederci Johnny!
He is survived by his children: Mindi (David) Menlove, Brandon (Callie), Six Grandchildren, Siblings: Kayla, Jerry, Valorie, Steve, Cindy, and Robert, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law.
