John Lepore

October 24, 1946 — July 16, 2020

John LePore also known as “Butch” went to be with his Lord on July 16, 2020 in Murray, Utah.  He was born on October 24, 1946 in Bingham Canyon, Utah.
John and Janice were married on January 31, 1992 by Pastor Hornok at the Midvalley Bible Church.
John was a social butterfly.  He loved to make people smile by saying silly things or just saying smile and it would happen. He was also very compassionate and would put his arm around you and just listen. John was one of the main organizers of Skydive Together for MS in 1991 and 1992.  In 1992, he received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Salt Lake Chapter.  John loved to ride his motorcycle.  It made him feel free from his health issues brought on by his Multiple Sclerosis.  John was the Chapter President of the Wasatch Warriors for the Christian Motorcyclists Association. One of John’s greatest joys was to do biker blessings.  He also rode with the Patriot Guard.  John helped start the Salt Lake Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse.  Lifeline Community was his home church for 16 years.  He loved interacting with the people there.
John took delight in his family.  They were the sunshine in his world. He is survived by his wife, Janice.  Children: Russell Ortiz (Kathy), Tammy Bartle (D J), Joelene Cook (Jace), Shawn Bridges (Kalyn) and Phillip Jensen (Susan).  Siblings: JoAnn Wall, Rosa Jensen, and Louie Ortiz (Penny).  He has 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Carmen LePore and his mother Elfi LePore.  His brother Ernie LePore and his sister Annette Jaramillo.
Funeral services will be held on July 20, 2020 at the Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary at 10055 South State, Sandy, UT.  John’s viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for friends and family.  A private, family service will be held after the viewing.
There will be no interment.  The family has elected to retain John’s remains.
