John Kinn

John M. Kinn, 65, died on April 30, 2017 in West Valley City.  He was born on December 5, 1951 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.  He married Debra Carlson and together had 3 children.
John was a very talented wood worker, specializing in cabinetry and finish work.  He served in the Navy and often shared his fond memories of being station in Puerto Rico.  He loved camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a dad, a grandpa, a brother and an all-around great friend. He loved to follow sports and was a big fan of The Minnesota Vikings and The Arizona Cardinals. He enjoyed going bowling and golfing. He loved his job and the team he worked with at Home Depot, where he would have hit his one year mark on May 3rd.  He was very active and healthy and would ride his bike everywhere. He was especially proud of the one he recently owned because it was a Trek bike and he said “it had been ridden in the Olympics.”
He is survived by his wife Debra Kinn, children Jason (Jodi) Simpson, Brian Kinn, daughter Nicole Kinn, seven grandchildren, sisters Kathleen Vehring of Crystal Lake IL, Janet Chowen of Clearwater MN, Sherry Brouillette of Plymouth, MN, brothers Jay Kinn of Los Angeles CA and Tom Kinn of Minneapolis, MN and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father John Kinn and mother Esther Kinn (Nee Lehtinen).  Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery.  A Viewing will take place one hour prior to services.  Cremation will follow.
