John H. Schmidt passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 92. He was born August 22, 1929 in Odell, Nebraska. On June 8, 1952 he married Imogene Meints in Beatrice, Nebraska.
Dad joined the Air Force at a young age and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed a 30-year career with the Federal Government Soil Conservation Service. Upon retiring, Dad and Mom retired to their farm in Odell, Nebraska. Some of their favorite hobbies were traveling throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by his wife Imogene; daughter, Nancy and grandson Dustin. He is survived by his two sons James (Tanya) and Robert (Debra); four grandchildren, Lindsay (Bret); Kyle (Lexie); Brooke (Tommy) and Tasheena; 4 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to the dedicated staff at Escalante of Draper Assisted Living Center for all their compassionate care.
