Our husband, father, and papa, Craig Brand passed away on July 2, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He showed great courage and strength through many difficult years of ailing health.
Craig was born on March 4, 1949, to John and Darlene Brand. He married his high school sweetheart, Sue, in 1969. Together they raised four children, Lisa, Jason, Lindsay, and Jenny. He graduated from the University of Utah and pursued a career in computer programming and later enjoyed a position as an IT architect consultant.
Craig was fun-loving, patient, hardworking, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Craig, with his Santa hat and video camera in hand, always made Christmas Eve special. He also loved the water. He was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed waterskiing. He loved camping, the outdoors, fishing, and many trips with his family to Yellowstone. He loved music and instilled that great love of music in all of his children. Craig was an avid Utah Utes fan and also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and was thrilled when “his Cubbies” finally won the World Series.
Craig’s children want to give special thanks to their mom for the compassionate and dedicated care she has given their dad over the last 18 years. The family would also like to thank Valeo Hospice for the comforting care they have provided him over the last year.
Craig is survived by his wife, four children and their spouses, four grandchildren, and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Private funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018.
