Johanna Marrelli

Johanna Oenes Marrelli peacefully passed away at home on March 20th, 2014 surrounded by loving family members. She was born in Groningen, the Netherlands on March 4th, 1957 and emigrated with her family to the US in 1960. She attended West High in Salt Lake, and obtained a degree in Administration from Salt Lake Community College. She was a model employee of both Title West and The Marriott, both in Salt Lake. Johanna was widowed from Dannie Marrelli in 1993. Together they predecease their daughter Angie, as well as grandchildren Mariah and Zakiyah. Johanna also predeceases her long-time life partner Daniel Smithwick, her sister Antje, and her parents Ate Oenes and Johanna Oenes (Heideveld). Her only brother, Pieter, predeceased her in 1956. She will be remembered especially for quick wit, sense of responsibility, broad smile, extreme diligence, and attention to detail. A special thanks to Nurse Melissa, Dr. Smith and the entire intermountain Hospice staff.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Deseret Memorial Mortuary Chapel 36 East 700 South Salt Lake City, Utah. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Tuesday from 10:00 – 10:50 AM prior to services. A private family interment will follow services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
