Johanna “Hanna” Schmidt Runnacles

Johanna Schmidt Runnacles, age 91, passed away on September 17, 2018 In West Jordan, Utah. ‘Hanna’ was born on March 4, 1927 in Goerlitz, Germany to Martha and Franz Schmidt. Hanna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was married to Ken Runnacles on October 27, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ken and Hanna attended the German Speaking Ward together. Hanna loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She was an excellent cook and had many favorite German dishes which she loved to share with her family. She was very adventurous and loved to go camping, and exploring. She also loved to travel. Oma loved taking her grandchildren camping with her. She also loved to listen to her husband play the piano, her two daughters play the violin, and listening to music from her grandchildren. Hanna is survived by her husband Ken; daughters- Angie (Torsten) and Christina (Tim); Grandchildren- Nicholas, Anastasia (Kolten), Annica, Zoie, Emery, Addison, Ella, Quinn; and her three great grandchildren. She will be missed by all, but her memory will live on within us forever. “Side by side”- “Just Like we’ve always been.”
A funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11:00 am in the German Speaking Ward: 767 E. 700 S. Salt Lake City, Ut 84102
Viewing preceding the funeral at 9:30 am. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery (200 N. St E, SLC, Ut 84103)
