Joellen Mendiola

JoEllen  Mendiola passed away peacefully Sat. Oct.6, 2018. She was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Park City, Utah to Harold and Aileen Leahy. Attended Marsac Elementary School and Graduated from Park City High School. Married Arturo “Toot” Mendiola, Feb. 20 1954 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She worked various jobs in Park City and Salt Lake. After retiring from the DMV, she spent much of her time volunteering at St. Joseph’s Villa. She was an active member of St. Anns Church. When not volunteering she could be found sewing, gardening, bowling and spending time with family and friends. She was the glue that held her family together. She and Art were inseparable, whether just spending time together at home or vacationing with family, or cruising the world with friends. She loved animals and never turned away a creature her boys brought home. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
JoEllen is survived by her sons: Greg (Teresa), Steven (Heather); sister, Dolores Leahy, she was preceded in death by her husband Art, Mother and Father.
A visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT. Funeral Mass will be Friday, Oct. 12, 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 2119 South 400 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Interment to follow services at Redwood Memorial Park.
