Joe A. Valdez

June 21, 1939 — July 28, 2017

Joe (Jose) A. Valdez was born on June 21, 1939 in Dinkeyville, Utah.  Joe died on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Murray, Utah.
Joe had many talents and enjoyed many hobbies and interests ranging from electronics, woodworking, leather crafting, archery, and making his own arrows. He was a very talented artist, and those around him enjoyed his work.
Joe had a very curious mind and enjoyed trying new and different things and was always busy. He also loved music and learned on his own to play the piano and guitar.  He also had a wonderful sense of humor and was very witty and it was always so much fun to be in his company.  He will surely be missed by family and friends.
Joe attended elementary school in Copperfield and later attended Bingham High School, in Copperton. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.  He then resumed his career with Kennecott Copper until his retirement.
Joe is survived by his two sisters, Eva C. (John Ryser) Valdez of Davis, California and Juanita Sandra (Tyrone) Moore of Garden Grove, California.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Salvador Valdez, his mother Delfina C. Valdez; his brothers Salvador S. Valdez and John A. Valdez.
A viewing and rosary service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary on 6500 S Redwood Rd in West Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 4501 W 5215 S, Kearns. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at 6500 S Redwood Rd in West Jordan.
