Joan Harrington West

Our Feisty, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother and Dear Friend.
Joan Harrington West, aged 82, passed away on June 27, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born December 11, 1934 also in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Harry W. Dupree (later divorced). She married Harmon R. West on August 2, 1958.
Mom loved to bowl with her buddies. She was an avid football fanatic, which involved gambling on her games. She loved gardening and keeping her yard in immaculate condition. Mom spent countless hours with her dear friend Little Rae of 40+ years and their great Wendover trips and much more. These two together were characters.
Joan is survived by a son Ray West (Linda), daughters, Joyce Johnson and Vickie Carpenter (Dave); 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Norm Harrington, many nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Donna Rae Hogan (Little Rae).
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons, Stan and Jeff West; a daughter, Penney Jensen; a brother, Wallace Harrington and a sister, Joyce Harington Read.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:30-10:45 am at Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive. Graveside Services will follow at 11:00 am at Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane (1990 E), Holladay.
