Jimi Jerad Leon Jennings

March 28, 1973 — October 6, 2016

Jimi Jerad Leon Jennings passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Jimi was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Kathleen(Kathy) and Donald Jennings. After his mother’s death, he was raised by his loving grandparents, James & Elizabeth Cobia.  Jimi and Erica always held a special place in their hearts.
Jimi graduated with honors from American Falls High School in 1991 where he enjoyed and excelled in sports, including basketball, football, bowling, and especially baseball. He attended ASU and ISU.
In 2002, Jimi married Christine(Christy) Jennings and soon thereafter came the greatest joy of their lives, a son…Dayten. The two later divorced, but remained the best of friends and co-parents. Jimi was extremely proud of his son, Dayten.  He loved him more than anything in the world, dedicating whole-heartedly in supporting him in every way.  He was his biggest fan.  He coached his baseball and was his “sideline personal coach” at his football and basketball games.  He was VERY proud of his son and was constantly sending out stats and pictures of him.
Jimi was a gifted mechanic, salesman and manager. He was currently working at Parris Motors with his good friend, Todd Parris. His Grandpa Cobia would often say “that boy can fix anything.”  Jimi fiercely loved his sister, Erica, and was an extremely loving and supportive brother.  He was confident and strong yet very tender hearted and had a charming personality.  He was amazing and so loving with children.  He also had a special connection with animals, especially cats.  He would spend his summers boating, wave running, 4 wheeling and almost any water sport with Dayten, friends and family.  He will be dearly missed.
Jimi is survived by his son Dayten Jennings, father Donald Jennings, sisters Diana Rose Gomez & Katie Nemelka, Jimi’s doting aunts, Carol Cobia, Brenda (Breck) Rich, Colleen (Jamie) Mayer, Betty Sue Pierce, Noel (Jean) Cobia, Dennis (Leslie) Cobia, Linda Sewell, Aunt Judi Chauncey, nephews Tristan & Sier VanKomen, nieces Jazzlyn, Elena and Penelope, and many cousins and friends who adored him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Jennings, his sister, Erica VanKomen, his grandparents James and Elizabeth Cobia, Art and Ila Seavey his Uncle James Cobia, Jr, and his Aunt Barbara Shepherd. “I can only imagine” the reunion that is.
