Jim Vigil

Jim Vigil died on April 20, 2022. He was born in Coyote, New Mexico on April 2, 1936.
On February 8, 1959 he married Anna Lisa Valdez in Delta, Colorado. They were married for 63 years. They have three children: James Mark Vigil in California, Danny S Vigil in Utah, and Julie E. Aragon in Utah.  He celebrated having 12 grandkids and 16 great-grandkids.
He loved his family and put them first. In his final days he made sure that his wife and granddaughter Krystal were taken care of.
A beloved pastor of church and a natural born leader, Jim helped establish churches here in Utah, Idaho and Oregon and he a was a district bishop for Apostolic Assembly. He touched the lives of everyone around him. He told stories of his past of people he helped to gain citizenship and those he helped find their way to God. Jim’s kindness and generosity for the people around him will always be remembered by those he helped.
Jim loved fishing, hunting, reading the Bible, singing with Krystal, going to parks, and church outings with everyone. He loved to joke with everyone.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Jim is survived by his siblings, Harold Vigil and Sava Ortiz. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings: Evamalinda Garcia, Cerilo Vigil, and Sally Leon.
Funeral services for Jim will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A time of visitation and sharing memories will be held at the Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow the services at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
