SCHMIDT (Foster), Jill Dorothea Ann Margaret, age 88, formerly of Arvada, CO passed away peacefully with family members at her side on Saturday September 18th, 2021 at her residence in Sunrise Senior Living (Holladay, UT) from medical complications associated with a stroke. Jill was born on April 9th, 1933 in Clacton on Sea, Essex County, England to William Henry Foster and Florence May Johnson. Jill had two sisters and two brothers. She grew up in England attending primary, secondary school and the University of London. Jill married USAF Airman George Schmidt on January 14th, 1953, in Gillingham, Kent County, England. Jill and her family moved back to the United States and had four children. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1970 and a master’s degree in 1974 from the University of Colorado. Jill enjoyed learning, teaching, and sharing with others. Jill began her teaching career at Wheat Ridge High School in the Language Arts department in 1974 and retired in 1993. Jill was a member of the Church of England and attended Evangelical and Presbyterian churches in the Arvada area. She loved to read, learn, and experience the adventure of travel. Jill was known for her laughter and the English humor and accent that she never lost.
Survived by her children Mark (Paula) Schmidt, Paul (Sheryl) Schmidt, Yvonne (Mark) Savarise; granddaughter Lindsey Schmidt; brother Michael (Hazel) Foster; sisters-in-law Pauline Foster, Elaine Giese, and Jean Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews in the US, Canada, and England. Preceded in death by husband George Schmidt (2012), daughter Jennifer Schmidt (1965), sisters Daphne Cartledge (2001) and Ruth Ennis (2014), and brother Tony Foster (2007).

Friday October 15th, 2021 @ 10:00 a.m. at the Centerpoint Community Church, fellowship hall, 6265 Garrison Street, Arvada, CO 80004. Please enter through the west or northeast doors. Hosted reception to follow at the church.
