Salt Lake City, UT – It is with deep sympathy, our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Jill Marie Martinez, passed away on January 17, 2025, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. Born February 15, 1982, to Steve Dilbeck and Lisa Chacon, Jill grew up in West Jordan and Sandy, Utah, and graduated from high school in 2000. She later went on to meet the love of her life, Tony C. Martinez (BT). Jill and Tony married on June 29, 2013, and were raising three beautiful children together, Billy, Izaiah, and Olivia; and dogs, Lola and Remi.
Jill was dedicated to her family and friends and held a special relationship with her grandparents. People gravitated towards Jill’s energy and friendship. She was passionate about helping others, very generous, and above all else loved being a mother. Jill was a strong person and fought a difficult battle with cancer, especially the last year. Despite health challenges, Jill continued to create beautiful and long-lasting memories with her family as the naturally outgoing person she was. Jill loved the outdoors and had a passion for camping and fishing. Jill also had an act and love for shopping with her daughter. If Jill wasn’t in the great outdoors or a concert, she found comfort in reading and hosting holiday events and craft nights. Jill could bait, hook, and reel a fish, but also had an incredible talent for fashion and beauty. She was remarkably talented in creative design and making a space feel like home. Jill’s taste in music was as broad as her personality, she loved country music but was perhaps the biggest Prince fan of all time. Jill’s sense of humor was both silly and witty. Her presence, jokes, sarcasm, and love will be forever missed by her friends and family, and memories of her will live on forever. Jill loved to dance, and we are certain she is dancing among the angels looking down on us.
Jill is survived by her husband of 16 years, Tony; children, Billy Gonzales (22), Izaiah Martinez (14), Olivia Martinez (10); Mother and stepfather Lisa and Rudy Chacon; Father-in-law Tony Martinez; sisters-in-law Andrea Martinez (Eric Huff), Felicia Martinez, and Marcelle (Matt) Bush; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins. Preceded in death by her father, Steve Dilbeck; mother-in-law Judy A. Martinez; brother Bryan Steely; grandparents Ken and Beth Burns; Aunts Cher Steele and Ann Foote; Uncle Kenny Burns; and cousins Kayla Burns and Megan Foote.
