Jesus Hernandez died October 5, 2017 at age 83 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born November 26, 1933 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Zoila Izaguirre on December 17, 1966.
Jesus was a Police Officer in Mexico, and Electrical Lineman in Chicago; did field farming in San Clemente and Salinas, California; was an Equipment Operator in Denver Colorado, Tolleson, Arizona, Surprise, Arizona and in Payson, Utah; a gas station attendant in Rowell, New Mexico. He also worked at Kennecott Copper Mine in Magna, Utah.
Jesus owned a restaurant and bar and was a vendor of Aresenia from Guadalajara, Mexico. He enjoyed buying and selling cars. He was also a mechanic, everyday after work he would fix cars, working on 12 cars at one time. He loved dancing, deer hunting and camping. He was very friendly and extremely social. He would always put his thumb up and say “Ay dolor no me vuelvas a dar.”
Jesus is survived by his wife Zoila Hernandez; daughter Norma Hernandez; son Jesus Hernandez, Jr.; son Jaime Hernandez; daughter Nancy Hernandez Aguila; son David Hernandez (Jessica); 18 grandkids and 11 great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father Jose Hernandez, his mother Belem Gardea, two brothers and three sisters.
A viewing will be held Friday, October 13 from 7-9 pm with a rosary starting at 6 pm at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East Murray, Utah. Services will be held Saturday, October 14 at 11 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1375 East Spring Lane in Holladay with a viewing beginning at 10 am.
