Jessika Hollie Pedersen

January 9, 2000 — November 14, 2016

“Gone Too Soon”
Jessika Hollie Pedersen, 16, died on November 14, 2016 in Murray, Utah. Born January 9, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Hollie Jan Kidd Pedersen and Joel Pedersen. Jessika has many friends, a sweet spirit, and she brought a smile to your face.
Jessika was very artistic, like both of her parents. She received an Award of Merit for a film that she submitted for the Reflections contest at her Elementary School. She directed, filmed, produced and edited the film. Hollie (her mom) guided her through the process because she was in film school at that time. However, Jess did the work by herself on this original film.
She liked to cook. She listened to rap music and enjoyed remixes and loud music. She liked crafts, knitting, and creating things. She loved Halloween. Her pumpkin for Halloween this year was black representing the Nightmare Before Christmas landscape. The colors purple, blue and black were her favorite.
Jess was a social butterfly, making friends with almost everyone she met. She enjoyed interacting with people and introducing herself to others who quickly became her friends. She was a kind and compassionate young woman and often wrote notes and poems; often making hand-made cards during the holidays and to give to those who were ill. She loved all animals and when she was young, she talked about possibly becoming a veterinarian.  She loved dogs, especially her little doggie “Lil’ Bones” when she was a child.
Recently, Jess lived with her Aunt Elizabeth just before she died. She enjoyed being with her cousins and being a member of their family. According to Jessika’s mom, Hollie, this last month was the best month of her life.  When Jessika had people in her life who supported, encouraged, and loved her unconditionally, she thrived and showed her true potential. Family was very important to Jessika and she loved her parents, and her brothers Wesley and Preston very much.
Jess was on target to graduate from high school next year. She loved building things in her woodshop class in high school, and was currently building a cabinet. She recently put together her new bed with her Aunt Elizabeth.  She had goals and a career list and she wanted to go to college to become a general contractor.
Survived by parents: Hollie Kidd, Joel (Hiede Smith), brothers: Wesley and Preston. Grandparents: Cathy Reed (Howard), David Kidd, Jr., and Jan Smith La Bard (Marvin). She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her as much as she loved them.
