Jerry Solt

Jerry Leon Solt passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 27, 2020. He was born on
June 8, 1936. Married his wife, Loann, on November 14, 1958. Soon after he went on to serve in the United States Army from December 8, 1958 to September 8, 1960. Together they had four children, 13 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Jerry was a dedicated husband, proud father, loving grandpa and loyal friend to all who knew him. Everyone would agree that he
had a heart of gold. Always caring and giving to everyone he knew. We will all remember his
mischievous grin and witty remarks. He seemed to always be up to some kind of trouble. If he was ever upset, it of course had to be because the “God damn Jazz!” we’re losing. He never missed an opportunity to offer a beer, was the master of Bloody Mary’s and famous for his potato sandwiches. He made sure everyone was taken care of no matter what. He was a man of many hobbies. Whether it was building wagons for great grandkids, coin collecting or restoring his beloved 1960 Cadillac he liked to stay busy. His true passions in life though were fishing and hunting. He shared these hobbies with his kids, grandkids and long time friends. It was his happy place and we can only hope that that is what he is doing now. He was the kindest, sweetest, funniest and most genuine person you could ever know. He leaves behind a huge hole in all of our hearts and we are going to miss him tremendously.
