Jerry A Christensen

January 10, 1947 — March 3, 2020

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Jerry A. Christensen.
Jerry was born on January 10th, 1947 in Murray, Utah to Earl and Irene Christensen. He passed in the early hours of March 3rd, 2020 in Murray, Utah at the age of 73. Our family is heartbroken even though we know he is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
Jerry worked at Kennecott for many years. Once he retired from there, he worked for Union Pacific as an electrician until he retired from there also and lived out the rest of his life as a “Mountain Man” at the top of Pinion Ridge in Duchesne, Utah.
Jerry had many hobbies. He enjoyed the mountains above everything. He loved dune buggying, shooting his guns and playing pool. He liked listening to Elvis, watching Marilyn Monroe movies, old western movies, Nascar, and all of The Fast and The Furious movies. He watched the news religiously, often with his great-granddaughter, Taeley. If he wasn’t watching the news, he was watching women’s WWE wrestling, often with his great-granddaughter Aubryn. He also enjoyed eating ice cream and you could almost always find him fighting over the last bowl with his granddaughter Challis. He loved talking to his grandsons Kyler, KeaSean, and Tristan about his guns and cars. He was always worried about what his great-grandson, Kamden, was getting into, asking, “Where is little britches?” Whenever his daughter, Tracie, would ask, “What ya doing, dad?” He would reply with “Mildewing.” He told many of us, “I can’t promise to love you for the rest of your life, but I can promise to love you for the rest of mine.” He kept his promise.
Jerry is survived by Peggy Christensen, his daughters Tracie (Brett) and Donná (John), his grandchildren Challis (Mitchell), Kyler, KeaSean, Tristan, David, Charles, Noah, Alex, Tyler, and Lilian, his great-grandchildren Taeley, Aubryn, Kamden, Jade and Aiden, as well as his brother Chris (Liz).
He is proceeded in death by his son Dale, his parents Earl Christensen & Irene and Wallace Wright, his brothers Daniel and James, and sister Jeanette.
Jerry was a great man, father, and grandfather. We will miss him more than words can say. Rest in Paradise, Papa.
“Give me a beer and a cigarette. I’m outta here.”
The family will be holding a celebration of life at a time and place that is later to be announced. We want to thank everyone for the love they have sent during this difficult time.
