Jerold Wilson Lloyd

Jerold Wilson Lloyd, 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 27, 2019. Born on February 4, 1946 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Clarence Parke Lloyd and Elizabeth Joan Wilson. They later moved to a farm in Ontario, Oregon. Jerold graduated from Ontario High School in 1965. In February of 1965, he joined the Oregon Army National Guard and transferred to the Utah Army National Guard in December of 1968. He was Honorably Discharged on February 6, 1971. In 1970, he met the love of his life, Susan Vee Jacobson, and they were married and sealed in the Manti Temple on November 7, 1970. In 1972, they moved to Taylorsville where they brought four beautiful children into the world – Chad, Stephanie, Heather and Jacob. Jerold worked at Universal Carloading on the freight dock, State Stone in the yard, and as a truck driver for Shaffer Trucking and Rapco. He served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Jerold loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening and woodcarving. He enjoyed time spent with his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, where they spent time watching movies and making his famous pizzas.
He is survived by his wife Susan, children – Chad (Melissa) Lloyd, Stephanie (Wade) Howard, Heather (Adam) Johnson and Jacob Lloyd. Sister Marsha (Mel) Howell – Turlock, Ca. Brothers Howard (Judy) Lloyd – Sandy, Utah, Wayne (Luann) Lloyd – South Jordan, Utah and Stan Lloyd – Letha, Idaho. Eight grandchildren (Trina, Bryson, Rick, Skyler, Kansas, Walker, Makoy and Maynard) and two great grandchildren (Lynda and Kalolo). He is proceeded in death by his parents and sisters Jeanette (Tom) Moore and Annette Swasey. The family gives special thanks to IHC Hospice and the other medical assistance for their help and care.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Memorial Redwood – 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Harvestland Ward – 3120 West 4700 South, West Valley. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services at 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Memorial Redwood.
