Jerald Peterson

December 2, 1945 — October 10, 2018

Jerald P. Peterson passed away October 10, 2018 at his favorite place, his home.
He was born December 2, 1945 in Orange County, California to Paul and Mildred Peterson.
Jerald was brilliant and dedicated to achieving his goals, always knowing education was key. After receiving several degrees and honors at Indiana Tech and Clemson University, he began to work for Hercules in Maryland in 1972, transferring to Utah in 1976 with his wife and young son.
While at Hercules he was able to use his talents in science to produce solid propellants for Pershing ll. This led to a successful management position and the awarding of many government contracts.
His other interests included restoring a 1960 Corvette and winning first place at several car shows. Another passion was model railroading and the building of a huge layout in his home which was featured on many magazine covers.
In 1983 he met and married Carol Davis. She became his sole caretaker, always sticking by his side. Jerald struggled with Parkinson’s for twenty-six years, but he always stayed positive and as self-sufficient as possible.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Carol Peterson, son, Ron (Jennette) and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents.
