Jeannette Gibson

July 20, 1940 — July 29, 2013

Jeannette Belle Malzahn Gibson, age 73, returned to her heavenly home July 29, 2013 in Salt Lake City. She was born on July 20, 1940 in Salt Lake City, to Ewald and Elfriede Malzahn. She was married to Keith Maxwell Gibson on October 31, 1956 at Fort Greely, Big Delta, in the Territory of Alaska.
Jeannette loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She was the most generous and giving mother and friend. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the temple and doing family history research.
She loved sharing photos of her family and enjoyed being with her family whenever she had the opportunity. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We know that she is back with our Heavenly Father and is having a happy reunion with many of her loving family on the other side.
Jeannette loved to crochet and made beautiful afghans, baby blankets and other beautiful items. She gave almost all of these beautiful works as gifts of love, rarely keeping anything for herself. She always went out of her way to make sure those around her had their needs met before herself. She was truly unselfish and generous with everything she had. Jeannette was a hard worker and took great care of her family’s needs. She was very persistent and determined when there were tasks needing to be done.
Jeannette was a faithful and a big supporter of Hallmark Cards. She frequently sent her family and friends a greeting card with a sweet note attached for almost every occasions. On your birthday, she religiously called to sing Happy Birthday. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people smile.
She loved beautiful flowers. One of her favorite things to do was take bouquets to the cemetery to place them on the graves of loved ones. She didn’t need a special occasion or wait for Memorial Day. She simply enjoyed visiting the gravesites and had such strong faith in the hereafter and in this sweet way, wanted to stay in touch with those who had gone before.
Jeannette is survived by her children, Steven, Debbie, Bryan, and Ryan Gibson and several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, three of her children: Dianna, Robert and Bonnie; and her granddaughter, Destiny Solock.
A graveside service will be held at Redwood Memorial Estate at 6500 South Redwood Road on Friday, August 2, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM prior to the graveside service, at the same location. Funeral Directors: Deseret Memorial Mortuary
