Jeanne Konishi

Jeanne Konishi died on July 24, 2021 in Murray, Utah. She was the first child of Jinzaburo and Chiyo Matsumiya. Born in Salt Lake City at the Holy Cross Hospital on July 20, 1920.
She attended public schools in Eureka, Utah and graduated from Tintic High School. She got her associates degree at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked in the Department of Public Welfare at the Utah State Capital for eight years, but spent the majority of her career in advertising. She established that career at Ross Jurney & Associates, Cole and Weber, and Evans Group Advertising.
She was active in the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple, the National Japanese-American Citizens League, and the Utah Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was a member of the Murray Ladies Civic Guild and held offices at the club, district and state levels.
She was preceded in death by her husband (James), her son and daughter in-law (Larry and Becky).
She is survived by her grandchildren Mandi (Chad) Knaras, Lex (Julie) Konishi, six great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. She is also survived by her youngest sister Yochiko (David) Shiraiwa and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Memorial Mortuary located at 5850 South 900 East in Murray, Utah. The service will begin at 11:30am.
