Jeanne Bodell Johancsik

January 17, 1926 — February 19, 2018

Jeanne Bodell Johancsik, age 92, passed away on February 19, 2018 in her home in Midvale. She was born on January 7, 1926 in Herriman, Utah to Reuben Trussler Bodell and Florence Robinson.
Jeanne was an avid traveler who loved to travel by Greyhound Bus and had a passion for cruising. Her travels included the Mediterranean, the United States extensively and other places. She loved travel so much that she started working for the bus line that became Greyhound Bus Lines from the time she was 17 until her retirement, 43 years later.
Along with traveling, Jeanne was a dancer. She loved to dance at the Coconut Grove and the Rainbow Rendezvous. She met her husband, Stephen Francis Johancsik during this time and was married February 9, 1949. Jeanne enjoyed reading, cooking, playing the piano and gardening. Jeanne had a particular fondness for her Iris and Dahlias. She also had an affinity toward the color purple.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Tracy Lyle Johancsik (Dawn Gray Johancsik), Stephen Michael Johancsik (Jane Ingram Johancsik), her two grandchildren Sammantha Dawn and Nikilaus Alexander Gray.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Hannah Bodell Ballard, Florence Bodell Brimhall, Arlene Bodell Goff and her brother Larry T. Bodell.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am, viewing at 9:00 – 10:45 am, at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary located on 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah immediately following the services. Condolences may be sent to www.memorialutah.com.
