Jeanine Ruth Pearson Rudd

April 12, 1948 — December 22, 2020

Jeanine Ruth Pearson Rudd, shockingly, yet gracefully bowed out of this life, into the next, in the early morning hours of December 22nd, 2020. She was born on April 12, 1948, in Salt Lake City, to Ruth Martha Wunderlich Pearson and Edward Ira Pearson. She was the oldest of 4 children, Cheryl, Lyle and LeeAnn. Jeanine was free-spirited, independent, and selfless from the beginning. A warm, vibrant light in her parents’ life, and always a loving sister and friend to her siblings. She was known to be the one to take charge and take care of those around her. Growing up she always enjoyed a good road trip and spending time with her family. Camping as a child was often a highlight. She loved being outdoors, especially in the mountains.
Jeanine loved to create and make things around her more beautiful. Her favorite hobby was drawing and painting. A few of her family members have her masterpieces hanging in their homes. After high school, Jeanine enrolled in beauty school and worked as a licensed cosmetologist for many years. Even when she didn’t do it full time, she continued her talents out of her home and for those she loved. She enjoyed making people look and feel better.
In February 1982, she married Robert Rudd, whom she said she married because he could make her laugh. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Amber (December 1982) and April (April 1985). Jeanine always said her greatest gift and accomplishment in life was her two daughters. Even up until the end of her life, she would tell everyone around her how proud she was of her daughters. Robert and Jeanine were sealed together and to their daughters in 1987 in the Jordan River Temple. She loved Robert’s children, Robbie, Jason, and Delena like her own. They needed her, like she needed them.
Jeanine later worked for the State of Utah as she lovingly provided for her daughters for many years. There she met many lifelong friends, who she would still go out to eat with after she retired. She looked forward to that time out with them.
Jeanine loved being with people and spending time with anyone. Her main love languages were quality time and gift giving. She would find any excuse to give her loved ones a gift…birthdays, the 4th of July, a Tuesday. It brought her joy to bring others joy.
Jeanine’s favorite life role was being a grandma! Her grandchildren and their hugs brought her true happiness. She loved any time spent with them. She always felt grateful for all the extra quality time she got to spend with Lyla Dawn. She loved to watch movies, and play card games and dolls with them. She always made sure they had a Creamie before they left.
Jeanine loved to be with family. When they would leave, she counted down the days until they came back to visit. She always reached out to those around her to check on them. If you needed to be worried about, Jeanine was your gal!  She loved to chat on the phone and tell you about anything and everything. She had a great passion for family history. She grew to know and love those who came before her a great deal. She loved to share their stories and it was a joy to hear them.
We will miss going to the movies with Jeanine, where she always made sure everyone had popcorn and a yummy drink. Every time we hear an Elvis or Michael Jackson song, we know she will be nearby dancing along. When we eat her favorites, such as sushi and Mexican food, we will make sure to leave a bite just for her.  Every time we smell Cherry Blossom perfume, we will know she is close, possibly right in the room. The holidays will never be the same without one of her specialties – spaghetti, potato salad, green bean casserole, pumpkin dessert and funeral potatoes… but we hope we can channel her chef like energy as we try to recreate them each year so that she can always be near.
Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend… Please stay close, until we see you again.
Jeanine survived by her daughters, Amber (Kelly and Lyla) Horrocks, April Rudd, husband, Robert Rudd, step children Robbie Rudd, Jason Rudd, Delena Groesbeck, 16 step grandchildren, siblings, Cheryl (Kent) Woodward, Lyle Pearson, and LeeAnn (Morris) Ewell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by father, Edward; mother, Ruth; niece; Robin.
We would like to thank our family and friends for your outpouring of love and support. We appreciate the visits, the meals, the texts, the hugs. They have helped immensely. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 3rd from 6-8pm at the Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary on 4670 South Highland Dr. Holladay UT.
