Jean Halliday-Boyce

Jean Evans Halliday-Boyce, 86, died, April 10, 2014, of natural causes. She was born April 28, 1927 in East Midvale to Lee Robert and Bertha Lucile Poulsen Evans.
Jean was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held various positions in the Sunday School, Relief Society and Choir. Her favorite position was as the music coordinator for the ward. She held this position for 27 years under the direction of seven Bishops. Jean was an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple. She was a faithful visiting teacher for many years. Jean was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, and because it was God-given, was willing to share this talent with whomever there was a need. She had the opportunity to sing at many Church functions, funerals and social gatherings, loving every minute of each opportunity.
Jean graduated from Granite High school in 1945. She started work the Monday after graduation for the Utah Department of Employment Security. She retired after 45 years of service. Jean loved life and serving others. She was known for her beautiful smile which brought pleasure to all she came in contact with. Jean married Eugene R (Zeke) Halliday August 23, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. Zeke died September 30, 1997. She then married William Harold Boyce November 14, 1998.
Jean is survived by: her sister Shirley Coon (Lamar); step-sons, Glen Gene Halliday, Paul (Isabel) Boyce, David Boyce; step-daughters, Cheryl Boyce Brimhall (Larry) and Stephanie Boyce Clark; and by many nieces and nephews and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11 am at the Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. A viewing will be held prior to services 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
