Jean H Eastman

Jean H Eastman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away at home surrounded by family on July 2, 2018 at the age of 87. Born Lowes Jean Heap to Lellon & Lillian Heap on 10/2/1930 in Paragonah, Utah, she was the 7th of 9 children, (all who proceeded her in death). Jean grew up and attended school in Parowan, Utah. She married Martin B Merrell (deceased) and had 6 children; Marjean Storm, Craig (Bev) Merrell, Carla Wood (Bob), Jackie (Jim) Terry, Grant (Yvette) Merrell, and Glenda Steele (deceased). She later married Clarence V Eastman (deceased) and inherited 8 additional children; Gilbert (Trixie) Eastman, Twila Eastman, Jimmy Eastman (deceased), Melba Eastman, Russell (Mira) Eastman, Ila (Art) Atwood, Lila Hutchinson, and John (Hope) Eastman. Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, puzzles, flowers and her garden. She always loved to dance. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be missed by her surviving children, 55 grandchildren, 141 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Services to be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 – Beginning with a viewing at 12:30 pm and funeral at 2:00 pm at Hillsdale Park Ward, 3276 Hillsdale Drive, West Valley City, UT. Following the service, interment will take place at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan, UT.
