Jayne Louise (Giles) Ashworth, passed away May 2, 2015, in her home surrounded by family. She was 91.
Jayne was born November 18, 1923, to Henry and Margaret Giles, in Westerville, Nebraska. She grew up in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School. On April 22, 1944, in Rapid City, South Dakota, she married Wayne A. Ashworth, 2 months before his deployment to fight in World War II.
After her husband's return from the war, Jayne and Wayne moved to Salt Lake City. Jayne found employment with the Department of Workforce Services as an Employment Coordinator, where she continued to work for over 30 years while raising their only daughter, Chris.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, and by her brothers and sisters Robert, Kenneth, Douglas, Hubert, Gretchen, Nell, Marta, and Carol. She is survived by her sisters, Bethel and Beverly; her daughter, Chris; her grandchildren, Derik and RyLee; her great-grandchildren, Rosabella and Boaz; and a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
A combined viewing and funeral service will be held on Friday May 8 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary (4670 S Highland Drive, SLC, Utah). Casual dress is encouraged.
