Jay Rasmussen

Our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa & friend left this life on April 7 to be reunited with his mother & brother in Heaven after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 2, 1958 to Leon & Verdean Rasmussen; he was the youngest of 4 children. He married his high school sweetheart, Vickie Beal, in January 1977; later divorced after 13 years. Together they share 3 beautiful daughters, Brandy (Preston) Garner, Krista Ordiway, and Jennifer Rasmussen. He spent most of his life working with his hands doing carpentry. He loved golfing, playing pool, going to Wendover & spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his 3 daughters; father Leon Rasmussen; sister Vicki (Kent) Money; brother Scott (Madeline) Rasmussen; granddaughters Jessie & Jayda; grandsons Kamron, Korbin, Kaleb, Kayden, Tyrell & Tavian; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Verdean and brother, Steve.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, UT. Viewings will be held at the mortuary on Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
The family would like to express their great thanks and gratitude to the nurses and staff at Intermountain Homecare & Hospice for the compassion & care shown to Jay and the family in his last days.
