Jay Price Norton Jr.

Jay “JP” Price Norton Jr passed away at the age of 71 after his long battle with illness on October 4, 2021 at his home in Junction, Utah. He was born on March 15, 1950 in Seattle, Washington to Jay “JP” Norton Sr and Alice Elizabeth Dean. Jay graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah. Soon after graduation, JP courageously joined the United States Navy and served from 1968 – 1974. Jay then later retired from Kennecott Copper Mine in Magna, Utah. Jay married his first wife Vickie Mooseman on October 15, 1968 and two daughters came of this marriage, and they later divorced. Jay then married Nola Terry on February 15, 1974. Nola and JP were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on September 20, 1986. Two daughters and a son came of this marriage, and they later divorced.
Jay enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle and working on different automobile types. Jay is survived by his brothers: Charles “Charlie” (Kathy) Norton, and Gary (Tammy) Norton, children: Sherry Brigham, Cindy (Michael) Easter, Wendy (Shaun) Gleave, Jennifer (Michael) Soucy, and Jason Norton, his 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Coco.
He is preceded in death by his parents JP and Alice Norton, his brother Tony Norton, and grandson Terrill Carroll. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM with a viewing two hours prior beginning at 12:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment will follow at the same location.

Jay will be remembered for his funny wit, unique sense of humor, vehicle and other mechanical knowledge, doing snow donuts in the winters, and his love of Mountain Dew.
