Jason Schmidt

July 24, 1992 — June 13, 2014

Jason Scott Schmidt was born July 24, 1992 in La Jolla, California to Karleen Peterson and Douglas Schmidt. He passed away peacefully in his home on June 13, 2014 in Centerville, Utah.
Jason left this world much too soon, at the age of 21. He is in a better place now that is full of peace, tranquility, happiness, and free from sorrow.
Jason had a calm and friendly nature, a gentle heart, and a sweet smile. He was a man of few words, but he chose his words carefully and they were often powerful. He had great intelligence and deep wisdom beyond his years. He had a unique, witty sense of humor and a great sense of adventure. He had a curious mind and wasn’t afraid to try new things. Those who knew him closely were lucky to see these wonderful things about his personality and he was dearly loved by them. He will be greatly missed.
His favorite memories were of growing up in San Diego, California. He had many close friends there and had many fun adventures and a great imagination. He later moved to Utah where he met many more friends. He was known to some as “Schmidty.” He was able to travel to several places in the U.S., Mexico, and the Philippines. He had a knack for all things technological. He had special bonds with his older brother, Aaron and his older sister, Ashley. They shared many common interests and many good laughs. They are deeply saddened to lose their little brother, baby Jay, as he was called when he was young. They will live and experience things for Jason, with him by their side in a different way. He will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jason is survived by his parents, Karleen Peterson (mother) and Matt Peterson (step-father); Douglas Schmidt (father) and Louchie Schmidt (step-mother); Ashley Schmidt (sister) and Aaron Schmidt (brother); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. At Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. with a viewing one hour prior.
