Jared Thomas Jimas passed away on September 17, 2024 from heart issues. He was born July 31,1977 in Salt Lake City, UT the only son and third child of James (Jim) and Mary David Jimas.
Jared grew up in an active sports-loving family. He spent a lot of his time with his two older sisters, supporting their dance and cheer events. He was raised by two loving and supportive parents. His father Jim, was a coach at Hillcrest and Brighton High School and his mom a life-long educator. Throughout his childhood he would attend those games with his sisters. This love for supporting the local community athletes continued throughout his adult life. It was easy to hear Jared’s booming voice shouting above the crowd. Jared excelled in football and was awarded All-State for Brighton. He graduated in 1995 and went on to play football for Weber State.
Jared always spoke fondly of the memories he made spending his summers in South Carolina with his aunts, uncles and his cousins.
Jared served a two-year mission in Brazil. After returning, he met Becca at work. Their love connection was easy to see and were married in the Salt Lake Temple November 21, 2000. He attended UVU and graduated in Business in 2003. Soon after, he started Law School at St. Mary’s in Texas and graduated in 2007. Together with Becca they share four amazing children. He viewed his children as the center of his life and they were his everything. He took part in anything his kids were involved in; basketball, football, art, orchestra, choir. He would coach when he could, but no matter what he was always their biggest fan.
Jared brought excitement and great enthusiasm to any event he was involved in. Whatever the occasion, it was more thrilling and exciting if Jared was a part of it. Every football game felt like the front row at the Superbowl. Anyone who knew Jared felt special and important to him. He was easy to be around and could always make you laugh. His genuine friendliness and big heart left a lasting impression on all who met him. His presence will be deeply missed. Becca and the kids can’t wait to feel that big bear hug again one day.
Jared is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Mary Jimas. He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Becca) Jimas, sisters Libby (Liljenquist), Jena (Anderson), his daughters Bella and Charlotte, his sons Noah and Lincoln as well as several nieces and nephews that he was so proud of and loved fiercely.
