Janis Sharon Hoskings Shepherd, beloved mother, and grandmother passed away on September 1, 2020 at the age of 83. She was born on May 28, 1937 to Willard Hoskings and Billie Harrison. She married Richard Lawrence Shepherd on July 17, 1959. Richard preceded her in death in 2019. She is survived by her brothers Warren Hoskings and Dennis Hoskings.
Her instructions for her obituary were to list her legacy. She did not want her accomplishments or contributions enumerated beyond the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that she considered her greatest contribution. She leaves behind a legacy of 5 children, Paul Shepherd (Marlene), Boyd Shepherd (Rachel), Cory Shepherd (Miriam), Kevin Shepherd (Corrinne), and Karie Shutt (Randy). She has 29 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren.

Great Grandchildren – Emma Johnson, Ted Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Nathan Kearl, Katie Kearl, Ivy Kearl, Lucy Kearl, Asher Kearl, Hyrum Kearl, Erven Shepherd, Rosie Shepherd, Jack Shepherd, Elise Shepherd, Kyson Shepherd, Emily Shepherd, Carter Gale, Hadley Gale, Lylah Gale, Kaybree Shepherd, Emma Shepherd, Laken Shepherd, Jack Shepherd, Deacon Shepherd, Collin Shepherd, Daya Shepherd, Kasen Shepherd, Skyler Shepherd, Bridger Shepherd, Aria Shepherd, Gracelynn Shepherd, Dylan Parrish, Brock Parrish, Kaden Parrish, Ryker Parrish, Greyson Parrish, Lincoln Lundevall, Elsie Lundevall, Jason Parrish, Jayda Shutt, Carson Shutt, and Jensen Shutt.
At Janis’s request there will be no public viewing. The graveside service will be held Saturday, September 5 at 2:30 PM at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery located at 10055 State Street, Sandy, Utah. Due to the COVID pandemic, family request that attendees please wear a face mask as a courtesy to others attending. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a livestreaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
