Janice Bolton Dent

Janice Bolton (Mae) Dent passed away peacefully in her home on April 3, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84.
Janice was born on March 19, 1937 to Edwin & Evelyn Bolton in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married Melvin Warner Dent 58 years ago on May 17, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple.  Janice graduated from West High School in 1955 where she went on to work for Gallagher Company until she started her family and then stayed home to raise her four boys.
Our mom was the sweetest lady that would do anything for anyone.  She was a fabulous cook, baker & Christmas candy maker.  She enjoyed crafting, painting, shopping with her mother and was an excellent seamstress.
Janice was a talented and gifted tap and jazz dancer.  She loved it so much she taught dance with her cousin Norma. Her love of dance spilled over to her granddaughters. When she attended their recitals mom would always have flowers to give them to show how thrilled she was with their performances.
She was always supportive of her husband, children & grandchildren’s activities (piano, chorus, dance, baseball, basketball games, senior games & car shows). She was our biggest fan in the stands and the loudest cheerleader.
She was the biggest supporter of Melvin’s hot rod and sports addiction spending countless hours attending car shows and sporting events.
Mom loved her church service and especially her callings.  She served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Sunday School Secretary, and various other callings. Later Mom and Dad served a Church service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Janice is survived by her husband Melvin and four boys, Bryan, Michael, Steven (Natalia) and Jeffrey (Melissa) and 9 grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin & Evelyn Bolton.
There will be a viewing for friends and family on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 from 6 – 8 pm at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary 3115 E 7800 S, Cottonwood Heights, UT.  A graveside service for family will be held Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Mountain View Cemetery.
We wish to thank all the medical personnel who participated in Janice’s care and wish to especially thank the Canyon HomeCare and Hospice, specifically Dane, Millie June, Jasmine and Megan.
A special thank you to our dad, Melvin for all the care he provided his dear sweet wife and our mother!
