Janet West Kirk

Janet Lorraine West Kirk, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was born October 3, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Stanley and Gertrude West. She graduated from South High School, where she met her sweetheart, Floyd Earl Kirk. They married young, and were well-suited in love and companionship. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and were blessed with four children.
She lived a life of adventure as she accompanied her husband in building churches in California and Hawaii. They were her happiest memories, especially the years they lived in Hawaii. The family is grateful for the tender care given at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Riverton, and wishes to especially thank the nursing staff.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl, and daughter Lorraine Janet Kirk.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Earl (Bette Jo) Kirk, Lora Lee Kirk, and Daniel Lynn (Terri) Kirk; two brothers, Tom (Sue) West and Stan (Annette) West, a sister of choice Patricia “Patty” Ann Kirk; and many nieces and nephews who loved “Aunt Janet.”
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 24 at 3:00 PM at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT.
