Janet Ogden

September 6, 1936 — April 15, 2016

Janet Gillespie Ogden died on April 15, 2016 in Sandy, Utah, after a long and graceful battle with Alzheimer’s.  She was born on September 6, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Will and Norma Gillespie.  She married Ray A Ogden on February 21, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many church callings.  She rendered compassionate service to many. She served with her husband as he presided over the California Santa Rosa Mission, where she was loved and honored by the missionaries.  Neighbors and friends will always remember her love of every holiday, especially Christmas. She was a talented, creative, and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband and six daughters.  Terese Engh (Mark), Sydney Atwood (Mark), Alison Partridge (Bradley), Janae Larsen (J. Eric), Amy Wimber (Mark), and Emilie Ogden.  Also, survived by 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Survived by sisters; Madlyn Tanner (Stephen) and Lisa Dolan (Kevin).
She is preceded in death by her parents Will and Norma Gillespie, brother Blaine Gillespie.
A viewing will be held at Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84121, on Tuesday April 19, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on April 20, 2016 at the Willow Creek 1st Ward, 2115 Sublet Place, Sandy, Utah. With a viewing from 9:45-10:45 am prior to the service.
Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.  Special thanks to Solstice Hospice and Wentworth CNA’s.
