Janet Meriam Holding Ridd

Janet Meriam Holding Ridd, our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed into the loving arms of her dear husband, Royal Duane Ridd, while surrounded by her family, on May 15, 2016 shortly after a severe stroke.
Janet was born on March 27, 1934 to William Charles Holding and Aerita Beauchamp in Tacoma, WA. She was artistically talented, creative, and had an unquenchable thirst to continue learning. She was a prolific poet and award winning artist. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family who love her dearly. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving as a temple ordinance worker.
She is survived by her six daughters, Marianne (Robert) Nattress, Laurie (Paul) Shaw, Carolyn (Ken) Smith, Linda Kaye (Ron) Herzog, Rebecca (Wayne) Hammond; Sandra Ridd; her brother, Blaine (Barbara) O’Brien; 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren; as well as many loving members of Duane’s family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Duane, sisters Myrna Lambert and Karen Julander; brother Kim O’Brien.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at the Holladay 1st Ward, 2065 East 4675 South. Viewings will be held, Wednesday evening at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive from 6-8 PM and from 9:30-10:30 prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.memorialutah.com
