Janet Irene Coleman passed into the arms of her loved ones on the other side of the veil January 19, 2017 in Keller, Texas at the age of 83. She was born May 14, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Gus and Irene Straka Bartel. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Coleman and is survived by her three children, Dean (Ann), Craig (Beth) and Jacque (Pat) Heaney, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her home was a wonderful and loving place to be where everyone was made to feel welcome and if they were lucky they were served some of her homemade, tasty peanut brittle. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially loved serving in the Jordan River Temple, which she did with her husband for 11 years. Upon the passing of her husband she felt the stirring desire to serve the Lord and was called to the Illinois Nauvoo Mission. “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” Her heart was full of love for her ancestors and she enjoyed helping others find their heritage by serving in the Stake Family History Center for 12 years. Janet had a strong testimony of the power of prayer and faithfully put the names of family and friends on the temple prayer roll. She was the sweetest among Heavenly Father’s daughters and was without guile. Her love for the Lord and her faith in His plan has been an example of strength and endurance to her family.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Lake Hills Cemetery (10055 State St.) on Saturday January 28th at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the LDS temple fund, the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.Service Information
