Jan Buchi

May 1, 1951 — July 1, 2015

Jan Nuttall Buchi, 64, of Salt Lake City passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on July 1, 2015, after a brave battle with breast cancer. She was born on May 1, 1951 to the late Rae Dean Nielson Nuttall and Carl Gadd Nuttall in Provo, Utah.
She is survived by her older brother Gary Nuttall of Gilbert, AZ, who, along with his wife Marce, are currently serving a mission in Lithuania. Jan is also survived by her younger twin siblings; brother Dan Nuttall (Kim) of Kaysville, UT and sister Debbie Brown (Barry) of Layton, UT.
She had a happy childhood with loving and supportive parents. Jan attended BYU and during that time met and married Kevin L. Kirk. They were married 27 years and raised four children; Tyler K. Kirk (Mandy) of Sandy, UT, Landon L. Kirk (Jill) of Osage Beach, MO, Carson J. Kirk (Amber) of Jacksonville, FL, and Emily K. Warnick (Bryson) of Lehi, UT.
Jan later married the “love of her life” Douglas O’Brien Buchi, whom she is now sealed to for time and all eternity. They were married for five years before Doug’s untimely passing October 20, 2013.
Jan enjoyed her career and was a valued and dedicated employee. She more recently worked for the state of Utah in the real estate licensing department.
Jan’s faith and love of her Savior Jesus Christ never wavered despite many hardships in her life. She never questioned Heavenly Father’s plan for her even during the roughest times. She was and forever will be a pillar of strength and an exemplar of perseverance to her children and grandchildren.
Words cannot express the void our family now feels at the loss of our “Momma” and “Grandma Jan.” She was our rock, our guiding light and our friend. However, we are profoundly grateful for her peaceful departure of spirit and her triumphant life on this earth.
Jan will be lovingly remembered for her humor, selflessness, sincerity, perseverance, tolerance of all, and constant and dutiful service and charity. She will be missed every day in the hearts of many.
A viewing will be held for friends and family Sunday July 5, 2015 from 6-8 pm.
The funeral service will be held Monday July 6, 2015 at 1 pm with a viewing one hour prior.
All services will be held at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary 3115 E Bangle BLVD (7800 S). Interment also at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountainviewmortuary.com
