James Valray Taylor

James ValRay Taylor passed away on August 24, 2021 at the age of 73 in Millcreek, Utah. He was born on September 6, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Milo Taylor and Edith Virginia Garfield. He married Pamela Frost on August 23, 1966, and later divorced.
James is a retired fireman and EMT for Salt Lake County – AS in Fire Science and Hazmat. He served in the US Navy as a Boatman from 1964 – 1970. He was an avid golfer and won many championships. James coached little league baseball and football for many years taking the 13-year-old’s and 14-15-year-olds to championship.
He is survived by his son Jerry, granddaughter McKinzie Taylor, grandsons Bryce Edwards and Zack Taylor, great-grandsons Aiden Taylor and Ryken Holt.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Sherra Taylor, sister Shirley Maack, and brother Cliff Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
