James Sieverts, Jr.

James was born June 24th 1939 to James C. Sr., and Betty Lee Sieverts in Salt Lake. He passed away December 25, 2016 peacefully in his sleep from complications of red blood cell aplasia, a rare blood disease.
Jim graduated from Granite High School.  He went on a mission to Holland, where his father was born and his grandparents were baptized by Elder LeGrande Richards, prior to coming to America.  After returning home he was drafted into the Army where he was a scrub nurse. After returning home from the military he went to Weber State University.  He worked for Luxaire and Sunbeam Heating, air conditioning and electrical and became a master electrician.  His father started Luxaire in 1930, and his sons, Jimmy and Shane are now continuing the legacy.  He met Kathy Barentsen at a tri stake fireside that Paul H Dunn was the speaker.  It took him nearly six months to get a date with her and just when he was going to give up she finally said yes.  They married May 27th, l966 in the Salt Lake temple by LeGrande Richards.  They lived in Sugarhouse until he graduated from Weber State University with a degree in economics and marketing, when they moved to the Canyon Rim Area where they lived for forty five years.  He loved the ranch they had in Wyoming, especially the horses, and he loved dogs especially Rascal and Brandie who stayed by his side until the end. He loved boating, camping, and spending time with his family, which was the most important thing in his life. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Tiffany (Dan) Smith; sons: Jimmy (Lorraine), Bret (Bobbi), Shane (Michele), Brandon (Matt); 26 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susan; and great granddaughter, Angel.
The funeral will be held Saturday December 31st at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 South 2900 East on Friday December 30, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday December 31, 2016.
